Saving Time, Saving $$

For those of you who have seen me recently in person know, I needed a hair trim. Bad. I hadn't had one since this; and it was getting embarrassing. Unfortunately, my trusted hairdresser does not work weekends and her salon is 20 miles away.

I've had enough bad experiences with "hairdressers" (I'm using this term lightly here) in the past to know that you don't cheat on your incumbent that easily. But do I sacrifice loyalty to start looking decent again? Ummm, after six months, yes.

There's an artsy-fartsy salon downstairs from my office building that alot of my colleagues, including a good pal, frequent. However, at $50 and up for a cut, I always said "No thanks." Then I heard that they were running recession specials. Get this... $20 for a dry cut! I didn't even know that dry cuts existed! So yes, I booked me an appointment for the same day. I was in and out the door in 20 minutes, with enough time to get back for my meeting.

This was the end result

Obviously, at $20, there was minimal styling done. But I was only after a slight trim, because my intentions are still to donate my locks for cancer wigs later this year through this organization. But before then, I'd really love to get this 'do. High maintenance and all.
